Building your own intersectional case study

This is an excerpt from Intersectionality in Health Education by Cara Grant & Troy Boddy.

To further develop and critically think through health education intersectionality, students in this course can create their own case studies based on the following scenarios. This permits reflecting on and elevating different viewpoints that can further elevate institutionalized and systemic racism, ableism, homophobia, xenophobia, and other biases against marginalized groups of people. Additionally, creating case studies provides opportunities for the reader to apply health literacy skills through interpersonal communication, decision-making, goal setting, analyzing influences, accessing valid and reliable information, self-management, and advocacy through the development and application of research in case study design.
