Human Kinetics is actively working to provide content on our website and in our digital products that is accessible to customers of all abilities. This is an ongoing process that goes hand in hand with our corporate mission to increase the knowledge, enhance the performance, and improve the health and fitness of all people around the world by developing and delivering authoritative information about physical activity and sport. We are striving to increase the accessibility of the information we publish.
Print. Most print book disability requests from U.S. and Canadian higher education institutions can be submitted through AccessText Network. If your school is an ATN member, please submit your request through your ATN portal. If your school is not an ATN member, email your request, including title, edition, lead author, and ISBN, to accessibility@hkusa.com.
Online video and courses. Most of our online video products include closed captioning and audio description. Find the latest accessibility features from Brightcove, our video platform partner, here; Brightcove video players meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA standards. Most of our online courses are screen-readable and can be accessed via keyboard controls.
Ebooks. Human Kinetics is actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our ebooks for everyone. Most ebooks with a copyright year of 2024 or later are in epub format and comply with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 and many titles copyright 2021 and later have some level of accessibility features included.
Many of the ebooks sold through our website are accessible through the VitalSource Bookshelf on desktop, online, and mobile applications. Find the latest accessibility features of Vitalsource Bookshelf here.
Select Human Kinetics ebooks sold on our website are delivered on our learning platform, HKPropel. A Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) for HKPropel’s ebook reader is available here.
