All models are wrong, but some are useful: How biomechanical data can support decision-making in performance sport 5/12/18

You must log in to watch this webinar recording.

Join us and Dr Paul Barratt who is the Head of Performance Support for the Great Britain Cycling Team. He oversees a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and engineers aiming to find performance gains through the application of science and technology. In this webinar, he will explore the different types of data that can underpin this approach (observational, experimental, simulation) and discuss how these can be used to understand sports performance and ultimately support data-driven decision-making.

Dr Paul Barratt is the Head of Performance Support for the Great Britain Cycling Team. Prior to this, he spent 10 years working as the team’s Biomechanist, evolving the Biomechanics service from nothing into an innovative, comprehensive applied support programme delivering significant performance impact across multiple cycling disciplines. Alongside his work in cycling, he has experience of a number of Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth sports including bob skeleton, water polo and squash.
