HK author recognized by national association

Pat Ivey, author of Complete Conditioning for Football, has been named Master Strength and Conditioning Coach by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches association (CSCCa), the highest honor given in the strength and conditioning coaching profession. Pat was presented with his blue MSCC jacket on Thursday, May 10, 2012, by fellow Master Strength and Conditioning Coach Don Sommer of Texas Christian University, during the association's national conference in Orlando, Florida.

CSCCa executive director Dr. Chuck Stiggens called it “an incredible honor” for Pat, signifying “a commitment to the student athlete, the University of Missouri Athletic Program, and the strength and conditioning profession.” Stiggins also called Pat “truly a model of an outstanding strength and conditioning professional.”

Pat is the Associate Athletic Director—Athletic Performance at the University of Missouri. To receive the certification and corresponding title of Master Strength and Conditioning Coach, individuals must be practicing full-time strength and conditioning coaches on the collegiate or professional levels, be Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) by the CSCCa, and have a minimum of 12 years experience as full-time strength and conditioning coaches on the collegiate and/or professional levels.
